MANCHESTER, VT — July 10, 2026 — VoteVets PAC has endorsed Army veteran Thomas West for Vermont State Representative, recognizing his lifelong commitment to public service and leadership on behalf of Vermont families.

VoteVets is a national organization that works to elect veterans and national security professionals who will stand up for service members, veterans, military families, and the communities they call home.

“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of VoteVets,” West said. “Military service taught me that leadership begins with listening, that no one succeeds alone, and that our responsibility to one another doesn’t end when we take off the uniform.”

West served five years on active duty in the United States Army as a Russian cryptologic linguist. He now serves his community as a member of the Manchester Planning Commission, a Justice of the Peace, and a member of the Southwest Vermont Regional Technical School District Board.

“My Army service was one chapter in a lifelong commitment to service,” West said. “I’m running for State Representative because families across our communities are working hard and still struggling to find housing they can afford, access the education and training they need, and build a secure future here.”

West is running to represent Arlington, Manchester, Sandgate, and Sunderland. His campaign is focused on building housing people can actually afford, strengthening schools and career and technical education, and creating a local economy where families can build a future and stay in Vermont.

“Vermont should be the best place in America to raise a family,” West said. “That will take practical leadership, a willingness to work together, and the resolve to protect what works and fix what doesn’t. I’m proud to have VoteVets’ support as we continue building this campaign.”

West and his husband, Jonathan, are raising their four children in Manchester.
